Massaquoi Town Residents Launch Community Bridge Project With Support From Rep. Bernard Blue Benson

Residents of Massaquoi Town in District 17 have begun construction of a community bridge project through a self-help initiative aimed at improving access and transportation in the area.
The effort, community members say, has been encouraged by the leadership and support of District 17 Representative Hon. Bernard Blue Benson Jr., who has continued to advocate for grassroots development across the district.
As part of his contribution to the project, Hon. Benson on Tuesday delivered 50 bags of cement out of a planned 100-bag donation, along with a truckload of sand to support ongoing construction work.
Community leaders praised residents for mobilizing and taking ownership of the development initiative, describing the project as a strong example of unity and collective action.
Speaking during the presentation, supporters of the project said the bridge initiative reflects the growing partnership between local residents and their elected representative in addressing community needs through collaboration and self-help efforts.
The bridge, once completed, is expected to improve movement and connectivity for residents of Massaquoi Town and surrounding communities.
Hon. Benson reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the completion of the project, emphasizing the importance of community-driven development and citizen participation in improving local infrastructure.
